I feel compelled to rant about the recent sale of the Lady GaGa tickets. I was one of the many that risked frostbite to stand in line on that frigid Friday morning. Like a law-abiding Purdue student, I did not camp overnight outside Stewart. Imagine my irritation when I arrive at 4:30 a.m. and see half the line had done so. After 8 hours of waiting in line, trying to call the ticket office while in line, I was expecting to be rewarded by leaving with my golden tickets in hand skipping home gaily like Charlie Bucket. Instead, I left bitter and sleep-deprived and GaGa-less. At promptly 10 a.m. the next day I called Ticketmaster, only to be told they had sold out. At 22 years old, I have never gone to a concert, and Lady GaGa had been the act I was waiting for. Never in my life have I had experienced such disappointment, except for when my mom wouldn’t let me go to the ‘N Sync concert in sixth grade. It is incredibly frustrating to see people who were able to purchase tickets with no intent of going, just wanting to sell them on Facebook for hundreds of dollars. To these scum-of the-earth parasites I say, shame on you! If anyone grows a heart in the next week, please do the right thing and offer those tickets to this loyal Lady GaGa fan. In the meantime I shall cry myself to sleep every night as “Poker Face” plays in the background.
