Sex position of the week ignores GLBT populace

I have been reading with interest the current brouhaha over the Exponent's new feature, Sex Position of the Week. While many have written in to express dismay at the coupling of male and female stick figures in the student newspaper, others have responded that college is a world of mature young adults where free speech guarantees that we can and should discuss openly all matters relevant to the Purdue student community. I couldn't agree more. However, I must oppose Phil Schoch's April 10 assertion that the Exponent is a "well-rounded" publication: In none of the weekly forays into sexual expression have options been presented for the marginalized populations of polygamists, gays, lesbians, bisexual or transgendered people. The Exponent should use the Sex Position of the Week to inform all sexual preferences of new possibilities, rather than perpetuating the heteronormative myth that sex happens only between one man and one woman.
